This is a certified course with an outside judge evaluating the dogs and their handlers.

A strong recall is expected of the dog.

Teaching includes social acceptance of strangers (people and dogs), and coping with unfamiliar objects, noises and ongoing distractions.

Basic good manners and obedience exercises include sit, down and stand.

There is some loose-leash heelwork, informal retrieving and dogs are taught to end their playing when handlers decide to do so, even in the peak of fun.
