Prep 1 is a 10-week course run by Lynn,
for dogs too old to attend the puppy socialisation course and with little or no previous training.

This prepares dogs for future classes by teaching basic obedience by means of fun recalls, fun obstacles and playing with toys. Topics covered include the comfort position and some handling, focus and attention, heelish (beginning of heelwork), sit straight, sit straight at heel, sit, down (from stand position), down stay, focus and attention.

Prep2 is a 10-week course run by Tony and Gordon,
catering for dogs with previous training or those who have attended the Prep 1 course.

All topics covered in Prep 1 are extended and refined, and others are added: stationary turns, focus while on the move, recall, out of sight recall, introduction to obstacles and jumps, send away and weaving. If time permits, a visit to the local dam (Delta Park) is conducted to familiarise the dogs with water.
